These Christmas chocolate truffles are rich, creamy, and perfect for the holiday season. Customize with your favorite coatings like cocoa powder, crushed pistachios, or powdered sugar for a festive touch. Ideal for gifting or serving at holiday parties!
For the truffle base:
• 200g dark chocolate (finely chopped)
• 100ml heavy cream
• 2 tbsp unsalted butter
• 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
For the coatings:
• Cocoa powder
• Crushed pistachios
• Powdered sugar
• Edible gold flakes (optional)
Step 1: Make the truffle mixture
1. Place the chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
2. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
3. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let sit for 2 minutes. Add the butter and vanilla extract, then stir until smooth and glossy.
4. Cover and refrigerate for 2–3 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.
Step 2: Shape the truffles
1. Use a teaspoon or melon baller to scoop small portions of the mixture.
2. Roll each portion between your palms to form a ball. Work quickly to prevent melting.
Step 3: Coat the truffles
1. Roll the truffles in your desired coatings, such as cocoa powder, powdered sugar, or crushed pistachios.
2. Place on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Step 4: Serve or gift
1. Arrange the truffles on a festive platter or package them in decorative boxes for gifting.
